CAREER SUMMARY

Andrew has been involved in Spa Operations since 1995, commencing with Cuisine and then moving into total spa operations.

His broad background in cooking has seen his skills be exposed to various cuisines around the world. Starting in Australia, before venturing into English country manor houses and subsequently his return to Adelaide, South Australia where he was introduced to food as a means of physical and emotional healing through the holistic health programmes run periodically at the Relais & Chateau property of Mount Lofty House.

Career advancement saw a move to the prestigious private clubs in Hong Kong and then on to Thailand for the opportunity to develop his interest in the healthy food, culminating in his more than six years at Chiva Som International Health Resort, where his food was voted as the best spa cuisine in the world for three consecutive years (1998-2000) by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller UK.

His continued success in his role at Chiva-Som saw his career expand even further with promotion to Executive Assistant Manager, before moving to the pre-opening team of Kamalaya Koh Samui for one year. Due to construction delays, it was decided that the position was not conducive with his desire for operations so he joined with Spa Origins to put into practice the many and varied Spa and Spa related skills that he has achieved over his working career.

His role in local and regional industry associations together with his worldwide speaker engagements, his university lecturing roles and his industry event organizing are all testament to his desire to continue to continue the professional education and development of the Spa & Wellness Industry
